Blues travelled to Wimborne and return home with the try bonus 5-point win to go top of the league on points difference

Both sides and the ref agree on water breaks mid halves due to the heat 30+ C a very hot afternoon.

Wimborne kick off and put pressure on Blues winning a penalty just outside Blues 22which is kicked, 2 mins 3-0 to Wimborne

Blues restart and get hold of the ball, Blues get a penalty which is kicked to touch, throw isn’t straight giving Wimborne a scrum just outside their 22, Wimborne run from their scrum and have soon got a penalty at the tackle which is kicked to touch just outside Blues 22, Blues get a penalty at the lineout which they tap and go, some good running rugby takes play into Wimborne’s half and get a penalty which is kicked to touch, lineout won Blues spread play wide getting into Wimborne’s 22 before losing the ball, Wimborne try running out of defence but have soon conceded a penalty which Blues kick to touch.
Blues knock on at the lineout giving Wimborne a defensive scrum, Wimborne win their scrum and run, play is brought back for a Blues penalty which is kicked to touch, lineout won Blues attack across the pitch and back before a loose pass bounces into touch.
Wimborne win their lineout and clear to touch just short of halfway, Blues attack from their lineout and soon have a penalty which is kicked to touch, lineout isn’t straight so a Wimborne scrum just outside their 22, scrum won Wimborne spread the ball wide before the clearing kick is charged down by Oli Rhoads and he wins the race to dive on the ball and score Dan Thorne converts 3-7 16 mins

Wimborne restart Blues take and run the ball before their kick hits a Wimborne player and rolls into touch on half way, lineout won Blues spread play wide before coughing up the ball, Wimborne run at Blues and get a penalty which is kicked to touch, Blues steal the lineout and run out of defence getting outside their 22 before knocking on, scrum won Wimborne attack getting a penalty at the tackle which is slotted between the posts, 20 mins 6-7, Mid half water break

Blues restart and get a scrum when Wimborne knock-on, scrum won Blues get a penalty which is kicked to touch in Wimborne’s 22, Blues forwards maul from the lineout before Jonny Lees breaks of the back and dodges the tackles to score, Dan Thorne converts 6-14 25 mins

Wimborne kick off Blues gather and get a penalty which is kicked to touch in Wimborne territory, Blues attack from their lineout but lose the ball allowing Wimborne to run out of defence, a knock-on on half way gives Blues a scrum, from the scrum Blues attack a mistake brings play back for a Blues penalty, Dan Thorne goes for the posts but it is just wide. Wimborne kick off is straight out giving Blues a scrum, Blues run from the scrum but concede a penalty

Blues have the better of the next 10 mins and right on half time score their 3rd try, Wimborne concede a penalty which Blues kick to touch deep in Wimborne’s 22, Blues forwards maul getting over the line allowing Alex Du Sautoy to score, the long conversion is just wide 6-19 half time

Blues kick off the second half and secure possession, after several phases of good attacking play Blues are over to score the bonus point try, Jonny Lees breaking the tackles and making the final 20m to score his second try, Dan Thorne adds the conversion 6-26 45 mins
Wimborne restart and soon have a penalty at the tackle which is kicked to touch, lineout won their forwards maul but concede a penalty scrum, Wimborne pack put pressure on Blues scrum and Blues have to touch down in the try area giving Wimborne a 5m scrum, Wimborne attack from their scrum but lose the ball allowing Blues to attack from their try line, the ball is fed through hands breaking the Wimborne defence allowing Ollie Rhoads to run in from half way to score under the posts, a great length of the pitch team try Dan Thorne converts making the score 6-33 50 mins

Wimborne kick off Blues gather and attack before kicking deep, Wimborne gather and attack making good ground getting close to Blues 22 and getting a penalty which is kicked to touch in Blues 22, lineout won Wimborne put pressure on Blues defence getting up to the try line before, Blues defence holds firm and wins a penalty which is kicked to touch. Lineout won Blues run the ball Duncan Craigen making ground, Blues keep the attack flowing through several phases and soon have another penalty which is kicked to touch, again Blues attack through numerous phases across the pitch and back, Blues win a penalty scrum, again they attack but their progress is halted when they concede a penalty, 61 mins Mid half water break

Wimborne kick to touch win their lineout and run at Blues, Blues defence holds firm and forces a knock on, from their scrum Blues attack through hands before a neat chip kick and chase forces Wimborne to concede a penalty in their 22, Josh Winfield quickly takes and is over to score unopposed, Dan Thorne adds the conversion 6-40 65 mins

Wimborne restart, Blues take and run the ball not getting far before a forward pass gives Wimborne a scrum, from the scrum they run at Blues and manage to break the Blues defence to score their first try and add the conversion 13-40 68mins

Blues restart and manage to get hold of the ball, Blues attack across the pitch making good ground, Blues change tact and a cross field kick is dropped, play comes back for a Blues penalty scrum, Wimborne get a penalty at the scrum which they tap and go breaking through Blues defence taking play deep into Blues half before putting up a high kick, Blues take and call the mark. Blues kick long and a good chase is rewarded with a Blues scrum, Blues again attack spreading the ball wide a loose pass hits a Wimborne player and rolls into touch.
Blues win their lineout but are tackled into touch, Wimborne attack from their lineout but Blues defence manages to steal the ball allowing Blues to attack, Wimborne return the favour and steal possession, they run at Blues taking play up to Blues 22 and getting a penalty scrum. Scrum won Wimborne’s forwards pick and drive, Blues defence holds them out and gets a penalty scrum

Blues win their defensive scrum and run out of defence before kicking deep into Wimborne’s 22, Wimborne gather and clear to touch, Wimborne get a scrum at Blues lineout and attack, Jonny Lees intercepts in Blues territory and makes good ground, Blues keep the ball alive and spread quickly through hands, Oli Rhoads breaks through to score his hattrick, the long conversion is just wide 13-45 78 mins

Wimborne kick off Blues gather and get penalised for crossing, Wimborne tap and go taking play up to Blues try line, Blues defence holds them out and after several phases get their hands on the ball and clear to touch to bring the final whistle

Well done to both squads for producing a great game of rugby on a very hot day
