During his time as general manager at the rugby club Chris has handled the difficult transition from our previous franchise arrangement. He has attracted new sponsorship and other commercial deals as well as implementing many cost savings. We thank Chris for his significant input to the club. All this has been done during extremely difficult trading conditions.

We are currently working on a new permanent structure that will take the club forward so that the club house starts to pay for itself month on month. In the interim period Leanne Giddings will run the Food and Beverage operation along with the existing staff who will now report to the Executive. We will be meeting with all staff shortly to discuss the changes we are planning and we will be asking for input from them as well as others which include some club members. Anybody who feels they have a positive contribution to add to this process should contact chair@newburyrfc.co.uk

Chris will continue to help the club on new commercial deals and ventures in a new arrangement with the club and we look forward to working with him on this basis.

I would like to thank Chris for stepping forward and taking on this role in the club’s hour of need. Chris is a great club man and a friend of Newbury RFC.
