Following the recent loss of David Barratt and Dick Tucker I am very sorry to have to inform Members of the passing of Life Member, Derek Eggbeer and long time supporter Father Pat Faughnan.

Derek was 89 and after a long illness he died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He is remembered as a highly regarded teacher at Park House school. Older Members will recall that both on and off the field he contributed hugely to rugby during the Pinchington Lane era. A service will be held at West Berks Crematorium on Thursday, March 5th at 11:00 am.

Sadly, Father Pat passed away earlier this week. He retired as the Priest at St Joseph’s Church in 2021 and supported the Blues throughout his time in Newbury. Always on Tony’s table pre match and offering Grace on important occasions. A gentle and much appreciated member of the Blues family.

We will remember them before our game on Saturday and send our condolences to family and friends.
