With less than two years to go before the 2015 World Cup kicks off on home soil, England Rugby and the RFU have launched their cup champions programme, aimed at ensuring local clubs and players are fully involved with the event - as supporters, champions and spectators.

NRFC women's chair Jeannie Ivanov will act as Cup Champion for Newbury, and attended the Twickenham launch event alongside chair of rugby Hywel Price-Richards and senior women's player Hannah Ward.

As well as hearing speeches from Kieren Bracken, shaking Joe Launchbury's oversized hand and being involved with Q&A with England Rugby CEO Debbie Jevans, the Newbury delegats also got their hands on the Web-Ellis trophy and were treated to some very pleasant Twickenham hospitality.

Between now and 2015, the club will have the opportunity to work with the RFU and the Cup Champions programme to ensure that they have access to additional resources, support and ideas for bringing the 2015RWC to Newbury RFC.
