Sadly, I have recently been made aware of a number of incidents where the behaviour of our players and supporters has not been appropriate. This is not the club that Newbury RFC is and does not align with Rugby's core values of Teamwork. Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.
Please can I remind everyone that Match Official abuse or abuse aimed at other players or supporters will not be tolerated and if incidents do occur they will be dealt with and there will be consequences.
A video available at the link below gives the perspective of a referee involved in the game and was recently shared with me by the Referee's Society and is worth a watch - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=riIgde3453I&fbclid=IwVERDUANcyWFleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHiW-0cVvqLRaYFUOYU1YHQ39RjEn5HuoyYJYagVfiQSh3M4vvB7Ixb2VJ-iG_aem_N-viKkHlV0sO7l4yO2HS9g
Rugby is a game that thrives on mutual respect and community - and the core values are what we all share and are what makes it the game we love. I thank everyone who upholds these and makes Newbury RFC the fantastic place it is.
Thanks
