Newbury Blues and Stags League Fixtures For
Saturday 10th January
Newbury Blues v Thornbury 3pm KO
Chipping Norton v Newbury Stags 2pm KO TBC
Big Congratulations to Harry Waye-Branch who makes his 100th Blues Cap on Saturday a great achievement
Congratulations again to Dan Thorne who reached 300 caps at the Old Centralians game
Blues
Blues take on Thornbury RFC who sit one place below them in the league but have a game in hand, Blues hope to reverse the earlier result at Thornbury where after a tight first half ending 14-13 to Thornbury, Blues had a disastrous second half shipping 42 points, eventually losing 56-18
Hopefully Blues can return the favour and get the home win after a successful December where they recorded three wins the last one a great away win at Old Centralians
Stags
Stags travel to Chipping Norton who sit third in the league, Stags latest results have improved and although losing they have showed they are on the up and hopefully 2026 will bring them some good results. This league is tough and Wheatly have been removed as they were unable to fulfil 25% of their fixtures having only played one game, availability of players is a big issue for most clubs this season
