Newbury A’s keep that winning feeling!

Newbury A’s travelled to Maidenhead seeking another win to keep their promotion hopes alive and were met with stern resistance from the home side in windy conditions. Despite the 7 tries to 2 win and 45-12 scoreline Newbury were put under huge pressure throughout the game but managed to show their class with some excellent scores from Nigel Cripps (2), Seth Grieve (2), Duncan Golby-Barr, Graham Beal and captain Tom Birch. George Stevens kicked 4 conversions with one of our colts, Marcus, kicking the other one. Veterans Cripps and Beal were outstanding and were supported by a mixed team of colts and regular A players with special thanks to Will Harwood for making an appearance as guest coach!

Another excellent win before the international break and maintains the A’s impressive record of only 1 loss in two seasons to date. Promotion is still an achievable goal this season. Next game is away to 2nd place High Wycombe on 16th Feb.
